Instructions & how to measure

If you still need help after reading the instructions below, please contact us at: questions@therapaw.com.

Step 1: PAW WIDTH & LENGTH
paw tracing, paw measurement

Place a piece of paper on the floor and trace the outline of your dog’s paw.

Hold your pen at a 90 degree angle (straight down on the paper) to get the most accurate tracing. Use the tracing to measure the length and width of the paw

A. For paw length:
Measure the distance from the tip of the longest nail to the very back of the paw pad.

B. For paw width:
Measure the width distance, from the right to left side of the paw, at the widest point.

Step 2: PAW CIRCUMFERENCEpaw circumference, dog paw measurement

Use a measuring tape to measure the thickest part around the pet’s paw. If you do not have a measuring tape, use a string to wrap around the thickest part of the paw, then take that length of string and measure it with a ruler.

Step 3: RIST/ANKLE CIRCUMFERENCE

(B) BACK ANKLE

B. [For Back Paws] Measure the around the back ankle.

Measure around the dog’s leg half way between the paw and the ankle joint.

Step 4: Wrist/Ankle Height

[For Front Paws] Measure the distance from the floor behind the pet’s paw to just below the carpal pad (stopper pad located behind the leg at the level of the dew claw and wrist joint).

[For Back Paws] Measure the distance from the top of the paw to the ankle joint.

I ordered these adorable slippers for my little French Bulldog to keep his paws warm. He suffers from allergies that make his paws itchy. These slippers also helped him to stop licking them so much. This was a great plus!!! – Ray R.
