PHYSICAL REHABILITATION VETERINARIAN WITH A HOLISTIC APPROACH TO HEALING

I am a rehabilitation and integrative medicine veterinarian that specializes in helping animals regain mobility, comfort, and well being. I focus on natural treatments such as acupuncture, nutrition, ozone therapy, photobiomodulation and detoxification, often combining them with more conventional therapies like pharmaceuticals, to assist patients in their healing process. Educating and empowering clients is a primary goal because having realistic expectations and understanding their pets' condition, the treatment options, and how to provide appropriate home care leads to the best outcomes.  I provide consultations for Veterinarians, Veterinary Technicians, and Rehab Therapists:

  • To offer my knowledge and experience for any case in which a patient is having mobility issues or pain.
  • I will review the medical record, current condition of the patient and can offer my opinion about the condition, prognosis, home care (for pet parents), pain management protocols, therapies that could be beneficial, other possible treatment options and if desired can discuss overall health including diet.

After receiving a Master’s degree in biological anthropology, Dr. Voulgaris attended Ross University to earn her DVM in 2005. After practicing in New York for 2 years and getting certified in veterinary acupuncture, she went back for further academic training completing a 1 year anesthesia internship at the University of Georgia, then a 3 year anesthesia and pain management residency at the University of Tennessee. She became certified in canine rehabilitation by the University of Tennessee earning her CCRP credential in 2011. She has since been working exclusively in the field of physical rehabilitation and integrative medicine for companion animals. She has many interests including nutrition, and oxygen therapies such as ozone therapy and hyperbaric medicine. She has also studied classical homeopathy and is a graduate of the Pitcairn School of Veterinary Homeopathy. Dr. Voulgaris’ interests are centered around physical rehabilitation, pain management, detoxification and finding natural ways of improving immune function, longevity and quality of life for her patients.

I rescue senior dogs. Even in the best of health, the bigger ones need help as they get older. I took my 13 year old boy who was struggling with hind-end issues to see Dr. V. Opie is a very anxious dog. He’s not easy to work with yet Dr. Voulgaris was able to figure him out. Her evaluation techniques are remarkable. She knew what was going on before I told her. She is patient and compassionate. Her varied therapies are a direct result of her outside-the-box thinking. Mostly she doesn’t panic when I think we’ve hit a roadblock and she doesn’t give up. If one thing doesn’t work, she’ll try something else. I don’t think Opie would still be walking if not for Dr. Voulgaris.Susan H.

"Dr Voulgaris is an amazing doctor!!! She has seen 3 of my furbabies now and she is just so knowledgeable! My girl Bonnie is a Dachshund who blew a disc in her back and Dr. V helped me through the process. She helped me understand what happened to Bonnie, what my options were, what I needed to do for Bonnie at home like expressing her bladder and what to expect going forward...it helped me get to a better place and find a new normal. Bonnie is happy and living a great life years later! If you have a dog that has difficulty walking, or needs holistic services like acupuncture, or you want more information on how to give your pet the healthiest life possible see Dr. V. She is my #1 to go to.Kandie L
